so you wanted a faith journey, huh?

We got a lot of news today.

1. Vlad is in the hospital. He has a high fever and an infection of some sort. He is stable and not in a life-threatening situation. We won't be allowed to see him until he is out of the hospital and fully better. The doctor says it will be a week. I can't write more about it or I will get upset, thinking about our little boy in the hospital alone, with no one by his bedside. Tears. :-(

2. We got the judge our facilitator, Marina, was hoping for -- this judge is very experienced with adoptions. Woohoo! :-)

3. Our court date won't be till Friday, April 1st. Hmmm.... :-/

Please continue to pray. Obviously we weren't expecting to get all the way to Eastern Europe to meet Vlad and then not be able to see him. And I hate that he has to be alone when we are HERE!!. It just seems so ridiculous! I mean we haven't been here his whole life, and NOW he is taken to the hospital. We are IN his country and we can't be with him. AAAAAARGH!!!

I know I said I wanted a faith journey, but this just seems unfair. So, I'm just holding on to the fact that God, as usual, probably has something up His sleeve and soon we will see what that is. In fact, I'm counting on it.

  2. So frustrating! Praying that Jesus brings healing FAST and Vlad can enjoy time with Mommy again.

That seems like a long time to wait for the court date :/ I pray you'll at least get to spend lots of time with Vlad b/t now and then, and that you'll be able to take him home THIS TRIP!

  3. You are there, in his country. You saw him and he saw you. Vlad knows he is loved, which gives him hope.

Thankful for the experienced judge. Sending prayers across the oceans.

  6. First, WOOHOO!!! Glad you got a "good" judge. Hehe I loved our judge. :) I'm SO sorry about your little dude being in the hospital. I am VERY happy though that it isn't a life threatening. Ok... so... it's an adventure. Take a break, get out and see the city... learn more about Vlad's original country. You are away from the craziness of normal life, and while it is NOT the ideal situation, it is what it is, so just go with the flow. Praying for your sweet little guy, and for everything that happens this week while you wait for court. Love you girl!!!

  7. Father God, I ask that you put your loving arms around Josh, Corbett and Syrus at this time. Give them your peace and patience as only you can provide. I ask that you put your powerful healing hand upon Vlad and restore him to health and bring this family together. I ask that your will be done. In the name of your son Jesus I pray, Amen.

With your court date being the 1st, you will still be in region when we get there. :) We should get there the morning of the 30th.

Praying that big V has a quick recovery!! I'm praying for his mama too! Wish I was there!

  9. I'm so sorry to hear this! I'm eager to see Vlad and all of you home and you are in my prayers. Despite how tearfully frustrating this is, I'm glad that he has the opportunity to recover from his fever now, instead of falling ill in the middle of a very long journey home. I love you guys!

  11. I am so sorry to hear this news about Vlad being sick. (happy to hear the news about the good judge though!!).

Why can't you visit in the hospital...SO frustrating!! In the country you are in, don't people go visit people in the hospitals or is the culture different. I'm sure there is reasoning behind it, but seems so unfair. Praying this situation will be a distant memory very soon. Vlad will be healthy, your court will go without a hitch...and you'll be back home befoere you know it.

  12. Corbett, we are foster parents and "know" the system. At times I wondered if even God could work with "the system." Yet, God used it to teach me so much. I always do my "homework" - like you - and yet the system has its rules. God uses it to let me see that He is in control. He will work for Vlad in ways that will astonish you. God's homework always seems to involve being still and waiting. As a mom - old enough to be yours - I fret about you. You are overwhelmed and carrying another child; I want to wrap my arms around you and take care of you. I am praying for peace and trust - when we can't trace His hand and we don't understand trust His heart. May you see God part the waters as He does exceedingly more than you could ever ask or hope. Loving you and praying for you in Tennessee.
